Václav Djačuk
Born in Czechoslovakia in 1920. Arrested entering the USSR in July 1940. Sentenced to three years in the Gulag in Kolyma. Released in 1943.
Far East port city. At various periods it was home to the administrations of several correctional labour camps (Vladlag) and POW camps. The city also housed a placement centre for prisoners on their way to Magadan camps in Kolyma.
