Labour camp. Used in the construction and maintenance of the railway line.
A typical labour camp on the Salekhardi–Igarkai railroad intended for around 500 prisoners. It contains several preserved prison barracks with bunk beds, a kitchen and dining hall and very well-preserved solitary cells. This was enclosed by a separate barbed-wire fence, which was not common on the eastern section of the Dead Roadi (construction no. 501). There is a memorial in the camp grounds in the form of an Orthodox cross. The camp is relatively accessible as it is 40 kilometres from the city of Nadym and is located near a road.
